The Valencian dermocosmetic research laboratory, specialised in the substantiation of efficacy and functionality claims through in vitro bioassays and clinical studies, closed 2024 with a 38.9% increase in turnover, compared to 2023, reaching 640 projects carried out for 140 different customers and 950 samples analysed, since the start of activity in October 2021.
During 2024, 57% of turnover corresponded to studies on functional ingredients, while 43% corresponded to tests on final cosmetic products or oral nutraceuticals. It is also important to note that 78% of revenues came from international customers, while 22% of turnover corresponded to Spanish customers. So far, the company has worked with worldwide clients from 30 different countries, from USA to New Zealand, with a 32 % of revenue coming from outside Europe.
In order to continue with its business growth plan, between the end of February and the beginning of March, work will begin to adapt the new facilities acquired in July last year, which are expected to be ready by August 2025, so that the company will join its two departments (laboratory and clinic) in the same facilities, doubling the current capacities and avoiding the current dependence on the public facilities of the SCSIE-UV in which the laboratory is currently located.
“The situation of the company is very positive, we are working hard and although sometimes, we would like to have less stress than we have daily, it was difficult to think of having these business figures with only 3 years of life, so we are going to continue working hard so that the company maintains a reasonable growth, as far as the market allows it. The most important challenge this year will be to have the new facilities ready at the end of August, after the summer holidays, since it is the only time in which we can go ahead with the transfer, with the aim of not affecting the clinical studies underway. Bureaucracy in Spain is very slow and it has taken us 6 months to have the acceptance of the authorities to be able to install the laboratory and the clinic in the new facilities, so the times are going to be very tight.”- says David González, CEO of the company. “It is also important to note that we remain fully committed to the quality of our services, which is reflected in the implementation of new accreditations such as ISO 27001:2022, which was approved in August 2024, which is in addition to those previously obtained ISO 9001:2015 and Crédit d’Impot Recherche (CIR).”
