For the seventh consecutive year, the Fundació Parc Científic Universitat de València (FPCUV) has been in charge of organizing the VLC/Startup call, a support program for innovative companies, which is part of a collaboration agreement signed between the University of Valencia and Banco Santander, with the aim of promoting and supporting the creation and consolidation of companies in the university environment of innovation.

Among the advantages offered by this program for beneficiary companies is the possibility of physically settling in the PCUV, accessing both scientific and business support services offered by the FPCUV and the UV, participating in a specific training program aimed at entrepreneurs , and receive an economic endowment. The prizes also have two modalities: six awards correspond to the Semillero modality, with a monetary award of 1,500 euros, in addition to the installation in one of the PCUV coworking spaces for twelve months for free; and a prize for the Laboratory category, which includes an economic endowment of 3,000 euros and the transfer of a laboratory space free of charge for one year.

“The Selection Committee has especially valued the innovative nature of the project, the technical and commercial viability of the project, the focus on market opportunities and its sustainability and social impact”, explains Juan José Borrás Almenar, director of the PCUV and member of the Committee. On these criteria, the best valued project in the Laboratory category corresponds to Porous Materials in Action SL, a company established at the end of 2021 as a spin-off of the University of Valencia with the aim of producing MOFs (highly porous and functional materials) adapted to the customer needs in areas such as hydrogen storage, contaminant capture or water purification. As for the Semillero modality, the best valued companies are Orbital EOS S.L. Dermaclaim S.L., Digital Optical Imaging Technologies, Miivo Mobility, Hechicer-IA and Domoblock Real Estate Investment, S.L.
